I love the detail, but what is the symbolism of the open mouths of the figures?

I spent 4 wonderful days in Prague 2 years ago and yes, I will return. Doors and windows and alleyways incite my curiosity. Who designed all this, what thoughts were part of the process, what is the symbolism of the open mouths...to pray...to speak the truth??? As I travel I wonder about the people who lived there long ago. The door to this synagogue has opened to so many in fear and pain. There has been such sadness. Can we heal? Can we ever live in peace?

I was born in the very heart of the city near the Old Town Square and its genius loci just got into my veins. Having my dad and grandfather photo professionals, I just merged my love to streets of Prague with photo hobby and shoot and shoot.

This shot originated on cold, foggy December day, almost at dusk. Silence of the courtyard was interrupted by staccato of soldiers' boots...

I took this picture in a castle in a dim sunlight and the shadows were perfect from the roof was perfect for the effect. I live in South Africa and work as Software QA engineer. The photo is the view of the castle from the hills behind (in the Royal Summer Palace) when I was traveling in Prague this summer. It might be the "White Tower" in the picture.

Holding camera to walking on a narrow path with only one-side-handrail built on a cliff was quite a scary experience.
